Dave's ESL Cafe
http://www.eslcafe.com/
I am sure many of you have already heard about the popular web site of Dave
Sperling. Dave Sperling, who is teaching an English writing class in the
California State University, is the founder of this page. His web site is
full of rich ESL resources both for teachers and students. Dave's Esl cafe
includes many forms for students and teachers who can discuss a particular
topic. The teacher forums include class activities, adult education,
linguistics, bilingual education, computer-assisted language learning,
elementary education and employment. It has 15 student forums on such topics
as hobbies, holidays, current news, movies, computers, literature, and music
and learning English. I strongly recommend you attend one of the forums,
learn from others and share your knowledge with the teachers from all over
the world.

Language

vivid colors and graphics, which probably attract learners' and teachers'

English Space
http://www.englishspace.ort.org
Of all the websites I have visited so far, this one is definitely the most
visually creative and professionally executed. With its space metaphor, it
is very fun to navigate - particularly for younger learners. The site was
originally developed by World ORT (a non-profit British organization focused
on delivering high-quality educational services and materials to
underprivileged groups) in an effort to make English accessible to teenage
refugees and immigrants at the beginner, pre-intermediate, and intermediate
levels. Over 60 hours of interactive lesson materials for self-study or
group work are presented, including puzzles, games, exercises, and projects
that emphasize reading, writing, listening, and communicating.
ESL Blue(s)

through a host of interesting topics - with immediate feedback available. To
help pre-intermediate, intermediate, and high-intermediate learners
efficiently locate the most valuable resources, the site suggests taking
their diagnostic quiz to identify errors and receive direction to the
appropriate level. There are special helps for teachers as well, including a
tutorial on how to use ESL Blue(s) templates to create quizzes.
Dave's ESL Cafe.
http://www.eslcafe.com/
Granted, this is the "Big Daddy" of the ESL websites (and probably the first
on every search engine's list), but it is still very useful for both
teachers and students of ESL. There are numerous links to different types
and levels of activities for students. One nice aspect is the different chat
and discussion forums for ESL teachers to interact and gain new insights
into better teaching.
Karin's ESL Partyland

there are over 70 different activities and quizzes. The teacher's part
contains lesson plans, quizzes, and other free down-loadable materials to
help with teaching. There is also a place for job listings.

CNN Newsroom site that is available free of charge to all schools with
specially designed ESL exercises. This would be an excellent resource for
high school classroom teachers with ESL students. Reports on a variety of
topics are provided, along with corresponding grammar and vocabulary
exercises based on the reports. This is a great site for higher-level
learners.
